NY 370
New York State Route 370 (NY 370) is an east–west state highway in Central New York in the United States. It extends for about from an intersection with NY 104 and NY 104A south of the Wayne County village of Red Creek to a junction with U.S. Route 11 (US 11) in the Onondaga County city of Syracuse. The western and central portions of the route pass through mostly rural areas; however, the eastern section serves densely populated areas of Onondaga County, including the villages of Baldwinsville and Liverpool. NY 370 also passes through Cayuga County, where it connects to NY 34, a major north–south highway in Central New York. NY 370 was assigned as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York as a Red Creek–Liverpool highway, replacing NY 40 west of Cato and New York State Route 37 from Cato to Baldwinsville. New York State Route 176 (NY 176) is a north–south state highway located in the central part of New York, in the United States, that connects Cayuga County with Oswego County. The southern terminus of the route is at an intersection with NY 370 in the northeast part of the town of Cato, east of Meridian. Its northern terminus is at a junction with NY 48 in the city of Fulton. The route used to extend north from its current northern terminus to NY 3 three-quarters of a mile to the north and, earlier, to a northern terminus at County Route 4 (CR 4) in the town of Scriba, east of the city of Oswego. Meridian, New York
Meridian is a village in Cayuga County, New York, United States. The population was 309 at the 2010 census. Meridian is near the northern town line of the town of Cato and is west of Syracuse. History The community was settled in 1804. It was once called "Cato Four Corners". Meridian was incorporated as a village in 1854. The Meridian Baptist Church, at the eastern edge of the village, was founded in 1810. The church celebrated the 200th anniversary of its founding for a full year in 2010. The anniversary observance ended in October. A number of houses and other buildings of spectacular architectural styling, in varying conditions of preservation, grace the village. If documented, more would certainly be eligible for National Register of Historic Places listing, but as of 2022 only the William Smith Ingham House is so listed. Cato is a town in Cayuga County, New York, United States. The population was 2,443 at the 2020 census. The town is named after Cato the Elder, a Roman statesman. The name was assigned by the surveyors of the Military Tract, and is one of many towns and villages bearing classical place names. The town of Cato contains part of a village also named Cato, as well as the entire village of Meridian. Cato is northwest of Syracuse. History The town was in the Central New York Military Tract, reserved for veterans of the American Revolution. Settlers trickled in during the early 19th century. After the War of 1812, the population increased more quickly. The town was formed in 1802 from part of the town of Aurelius. Conquest is a town in Cayuga County, New York, United States. The population was 1,796 at the 2020 census. The name was chosen to mark the victory of those who wished to form the town. Conquest is on the western border of Cayuga County and is west of Syracuse. History Conquest was part of the Central New York Military Tract. The area of the town was first settled ''circa'' 1800. New York State Route 38 (NY 38) is a north–south state highway in the Finger Lakes region of New York in the United States. Its southern terminus is at an intersection with NY 96 in the town of Owego in Tioga County. The northern terminus is at a junction with NY 104A in the town of Sterling in Cayuga County. NY 38 is a two-lane local road for most of its length. The route is the main access road to parts of Auburn, Dryden, Newark Valley and Port Byron. It passes through mountainous terrain in Tioga and Cortland counties, but the terrain levels out as it heads through the Finger Lakes area and Cayuga County. Ridge Road (Western New York)
Ridge Road is a east–west road that traverses four counties in Upstate New York in the United States. The road begins adjacent to the Niagara River at an intersection with Water Street in the village of Lewiston, Niagara County, and passes through several towns, villages, and the city of Rochester before arriving at its eastern terminus at a junction with New York State Route 370 (NY 370) southwest of Red Creek, Wayne County. It is named for the rise atop which the road was built, a mound of sand and gravel that was formed when it was the shoreline of ancient Glacial Lake Iroquois (now Lake Ontario). Wolcott (town), New York
Wolcott is a town in the north-eastern corner of Wayne County, New York, United States. The population of the town was 4,453 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Governor Oliver Wolcott of Connecticut. The Town of Wolcott is in the northeast corner of the county. There are two villages within the town: Wolcott and Red Creek. The town lies west of Syracuse. History The first white colonist settlement began around 1807. Native Americans settled the land many years before.
